We regret to announce that the Rampaging Chariots Scottish Robotic Games scheduled to be held at Leonardo, Edinburgh, in June 2023 has had to be cancelled for this year. We are making every effort to obtain new parts in time for us to supply kits to schools at the start of the Autumn Term 2023 and plan to hold the next Scottish Games in early June 2024.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic we regret to announce that the 2020 Rampaging Chariots Robotic Games hosted by Leonardo at their facilities in Edinburgh, Luton, Basildon and Southampton have had to be cancelled for this year.

Rampaging Chariots Scottish Robotic Games for 2017 will be held at Leonardo, Crewe Toll, Edinburgh EH5 2XS on Saturday 10th June 2017 from 0900 to 1630 hrs. Register Now. Rampaging Chariot Autonomous Upgrade Kits have been funded by the Digital Extra Fund of Skills Development Scotland for evaluation by specific Scottish Secondary Schools. Milestone 1: The delivery of kits, was completed in October 2016. Milestone 2: Feedback and assessment, will be completed by the end of March 2017. Availability of Autonomous kits in 2017 depends on this evaluation and future funding.

The Luton Robotic Games is on Saturday June 20th and the Basildon Robotic Games is on Saturday July 4th. Registration for these Games is direct with the organisers at those sites.

The rules for the Rampaging Chariots Robotic Games have been updated. Significant changes have been made to allowed modifications involving 4-wheel drive and Lithium batteries.

Registration for the Scottish Robotic Games 2012 is now open. Names of participants and supporters are required at least three days before the Games.

The 2012 Rampaging Chariots Scottish Robotic Games will be held on Saturday 9th June 2012 at Selex Galileo, Crewe Toll Edinburgh, EH5 2XS. This is the day following the Young Engineer and Scientists Clubs Celebration of Engineering in Glasgow to enable teams travelling a long distance to attend both events. Registration will be open in February.

The 2009 Scottish Robotic Games were held at SELEX Galileo in Edinburgh on 20th June. Results and details will be posted shortly.

The 2009 Scottish Robotic Games were mentioned on STV News on Friday evening.

The 2009 Games will be opened by NASA astronauts who will give two talks in the morning. The prizes this year will be presented by Heather Reid - Scotland's best known weather forcaster. More information will follow. Could all teams please remember to fill in the details of ALL team members.

Completed some updates to the rules for the 2008 competition. Most changes are editorial, but do check out the changes at the rules page. Posted 12th May 2008.

We're still working on the on-line registration pages for this year's events, but are having some problems with getting the security right to preserve the privacy of your data. We hope to have it fixed by 5th May or will post alternative registration instructions. (posted 29th April)

Fixed a bug in the registration system that prevented additional robots from being registered correctly. Posted May 13th.

Having problems with the attachment of the drill to the axle? We have a minor technical glitch with some of the drills - see the FAQ (number 10) for more details.

As a result of obsolescence, the Rampaging Chariots kits supplied to participants in England use a slightly different drill from the one illustrated in the technical section. A revised manual is available for download in the Technical Section.

The dates have now been agreed for the two events in England. These will be held at the SELEX Galileo facilties in Basildon on 21st June and in Luton on 28th June. Details of registration for these events will be posted on the website soon.

The third Scottish Robotic Games is again to be held in the impressive facilities of Selex Galileo at Crewe Toll, Edinburgh on Saturday 14th June. More details of the registration procedure will be posted soon.

For the third year running Rampaging Chariots are at the Edinburgh Science Festival between 25th March and 5th April. Young people and children over the age of 6 are able to drive our chariots around an obstacle course and if they do well, take part in a football match at the end of each hourly session.

The front page has been extensively revised and now includes some video clips of robot football.

The web site has been extensively extended. Contact e-mail addresses have been added and the Technical section is now substantially complete

We are currently in the process of building a nice new website for all people involved in the Rampaging Chariots. So keep looking back frequently to check for useful updates and information.

Regional events will be held in late Spring/early Summer of 2008 and (subject to us obtaining suitable sponsorhsip to cover travel costs) hope to hold a grand final in the Summer of 2008.

We have now secured sponsorship for 2008 and are extending the competition to include locations in England.
